Computer Skills: It is mandatory for candidates to have completed an ICT (Information and Communication Technology) course at the entry level, as per the instructions issued by the Chandigarh Administration. Chandighar Police ASI Recruitment criteria for selection, examination, and syllabus for the mentioned posts are as follows:

Selection Process: All candidates, including ex-servicemen, will undergo a Single Examination consisting of two tiers: Tier I – OMR Sheet Based Test (50 Marks) and Tier II Written Test (50 Marks).

OMR Sheet-Based Test (Tier I):

  • Duration: Two hours
  • Number of Questions: 50 Multiple choice objective type questions
  • Subjects: General Knowledge/Current Affairs, I.T. Knowledge, IQ, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and Ethics
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer carries one mark, and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.

Written Test (Tier II):

  • Subjective test

    • Language Essay (English, Hindi, Punjabi): 30 marks

Chandighar Police ASI Recruitment Minimum Qualifying Cut-off Marks: The minimum qualifying cut-off marks for the Tier-I paper shall be 33% for all categories.

Eligibility for Tier-II Test: Only candidates who score the minimum qualifying marks in the Tier-I Test will be eligible for the evaluation of their Tier-II Test. However, the Director General of Police reserves the right to change the minimum qualifying cut-off marks if an insufficient number of candidates qualify the Tier-I paper in any or all categories, with reasons recorded in writing. Shortlisted candidates after the written test will be called for Physical Efficiency & Measurement Test (PE&MT) in the ratio of 10 times the number of vacancies for each category.

Language of Question Paper: The question paper for both Tier-I and Tier-II Tests will be available in Hindi, English, and Punjabi. Each candidate will receive the test paper in the language selected by the candidate during the online application process, and changing the medium of the question paper will not be permitted.

(i) In accordance with the instructions of the Government of India, bonus marks will be granted to NCC Certificate holders as follows:

  • NCC “C” Certificate: 5% of the maximum marks of the examination

(ii) Candidates who are graduates from the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar (Gujarat) will receive additional marks as a weightage of 2% of the total marks. This bonus mark will be provided to RRU graduates.

Instructions / Guidelines for Online Filling of Chandighar Police ASI Recruitment Form:
